Job Description:
Fort Erie Race Track is hiring a Race Track Announcer to announce the races during live race days.
Term of employment is from May 23, 2022 to October 18, 2022. Full-time, 30 hours per week.
Compensation: $1000/per week.

Job Requirements:
Duties:
- Assist and work with other departments to ensure a successful race product is delivered;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions, and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.
- Announce the races during the live race meet.
- Help to promote racing promotions and special events coverage.
- Work collaboratively with the TV department on the broadcast of live racing.
- Assist with Media relations.
- Assist the race o"ice during draw days.
- Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed by the General Manager.
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in public speaking and publicity.
- Demonstrated experience in radio and television.
- Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience problem solving and organizing and prioritizing work.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the horse racing industry.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in the horse racing industry, rules and regulations and related terminology
- Must be able to obtain all licenses from applicable regulatory agencies, including Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)
