Job Description: Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark provide leadership in the design, development, optimization and operation of manufacturing and supporting processes. Candidates must have expertise across multiple technologies in both staff and plant environments and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to the Operations Leader and receives direction in the form of broad assignment objectives.

Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to effectively interface with a broad range of team members in a multi-discipline engineering and manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Product System Leader and receives direction in the form of general project and asset performance objectives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of assets, supporting processes, and supports day to day operations to meet unit objectives.
Lead multiple expense and capital projects, to improve process reliability, safety, overall operational performance, and to support cost transformation objectives.
Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.
Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Resolve complex technical issues to determine root cause.
Work with external technical service providers, construction management providers and sourcing and supply vendor partners.
Discuss technical issues using effective communication skills in a business environment (mill technical and operations resources, suppliers, management, etc.).
Continuing self-development.
Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise, including providing direction and building talent of AE Technician Specialists.
Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of two years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with a variety of technical or operational assignments, including demonstrated leadership in achieving results.
Strong experience with mechanical process and equipment.
Recognized expert in manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into
execution of process and capacity improvements in major capital projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five + years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations.
Experience and expertise with Kimberly-Clark manufacturing mechanical engineering technology, procedures, processes and products.
Experience working with external technical service providers.
Demonstrated continuing self-development (i.e., progress toward an advanced degree).
Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.
Prefer candidates with working knowledge of CAD and Solid Works.
