Job Summary
 
Position Overview
 
McElroy is searching for a Traffic Coordinator in our Mauston, WI manufacturing facility. We are looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working as a team. The Traffic Coordinator will coordinate and schedule the shipment of products to the customer, on time, and by the most cost-effective method.
 
Responsibilities
 
Essential Functions:
     * Plan and schedule customer’s shipments in the most cost-effective method, whether by route truck, contract carrier, or LTL type services.
     * Prepare truck load manifests for credit and production departments specifying actual orders, along with dispatch and delivery times.
     * Prepare shipping load plans for loading crew and truck drivers.
     * Notify customers of scheduled delivery and continue to advise customer of changes or updates.
     * Have an open and communicative relationship with the customer, with the ability to solve shipment problems as needed.
     * Work closely with operations and customer service to maximize proper production sequence and scheduling.
     * Negotiate rates for contract carrier deliveries and continue to increase contract carrier base.
     * Prepare and file monthly traffic reports and file freight claims with the responsible person.
 
Non-Essential Functions:
     * Assist Administrative Leader, and perform other duties as time allows, and/or are required

Qualifications
 
Mental Skills and Abilities:
     * Math - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; to use practical application of fractions, percentages, and statistics.
     * Reading - Ability to read and understand technical data relative to product distribution
     * Communication – Proficient and professional interaction, both internal & external, using email, phone, and in person
     * Speaking - Ability to be conversant in the principles and methods of effective and persuasive speaking and discussion.
 
Education/Training:
     * High School Diploma
 
Experience/Skills:
     * Proficient in Microsoft/Oracle type computer skills
