Job Description:
2503811 ONTARIO INC. O/A IDEAL PACKAGING & SUPPLIES has immediate opening for Graphic Designer (NOC: 5241) at our location in Mississauga, Ontario.
As a Graphic Designer, you will perform the following duties:
• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
• Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
• Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials in order to meet their needs
• Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
• Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors.
• Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
• Estimate cost of materials and time to complete graphic design
• Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art
• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.
• Establish guidelines for illustrators.
• Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
• Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements of the subjects to be rendered using traditional tools, multimedia software and image processing, layout and design software.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
• A university degree in visual arts with specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications or cartooning. Or Completion of a college diploma program in graphic arts is required.
• 1 to 2 Years of experience or training in multimedia design is required.
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $ 27.00/hour
