Primary Function

Operates power and/or heavy equipment at various worksites
Responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment and/or commercial vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner over public highways, including operating within private customer sites and facilities. Operates power and/or heavy equipment along with company CDL Class A vehicles in the transport of equipment, hazardous and non-hazardous materials at various worksites utilizing more than one of the following units: vacuum truck, tractor/trailer combo units, water truck, pressure truck, rubber tire or track hoe (backhoe, excavator, compactor, crane, loader, grader, bobcat), roll-off truck, and heavy duty Forklift.
Operator title is used to categorize all job roles including hydroblasting operator, vacuum truck operator, boat operator and licensed captain, heavy equipment operator, driver (Class A and Hazmat/Tanker), tank cleaning operator, and chemical cleaning operator.


Operator I - Overview of Duties

Roles: Hydroblasting Operator, Vacuum Truck Operator, CDL Driver (Airbrake Endorsement), Heavy Equipment Operator and Boat Operator
May operate and maintain heavy equipment including backhoe, track hoe and/or bulldozer to gouge out, level and distribute earth and to push trees and rocks from land preparatory to construction, demolition and buildings to remediate soil or other operations
Reads work orders and collects all basic equipment to perform all tasks in a specific service line
Manually cleans, installs, fits and repairs valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets and all other external and internal equipment on projects


Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED desired
Experience: 2 to 5 years hands-on industry experience, 6 mo to 2 yrs driving or equipment usage experience
Compliance with Drug, Background Check (Category 4), MVR, and DOT physical requirements
Required to provide proof of eligibility for employment in the U.S.
Completion of all applicable Job Specific/ Site Specific training and or recertification to operate assigned equipment as required.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk, and sit 100% of the time
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, shovel and perform other physically demanding tasks similar in nature 100% of the time.
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull more than 75 lbs.
Handle/Feel/Touch with Hands: 100 % of the time
Ability to climb/balance 50% of the time
Noise Level: Loud/Very Loud


Vision Requirements

Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given object)
Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
