Salary & Benefits: Salary is $28,620.80. Compensation package is comprised of many college paid benefits including health and life insurance, retirement, leave time, and tuition waivers for Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.

The Plumbing Helper assists the Plumbers in the service, maintenance, repair, installation and modification of the plumbing systems, infrastructure, and equipment for Santa Fe College.

Responsibilities and duties include:
• Assist Plumbers with the inspection, maintenance, service, and repair all plumbing systems to ensure a safe and sanitary environment including, but not limited to, valves, sinks, faucets, drinking fountains, and all associated piping.
• Assist Plumbers in performing a variety of skilled plumbing tasks including the testing and repair of backflows, troubleshooting malfunctions, as well as developing a plan of action to resolve problems.
• Assist in ensuring roof and floor drains are cleared of debris and fully operational at all times.
• Assist with preventative plumbing maintenance.
• Help with the installation of plumbing equipment.
• Follow complex directions with attention to detail and know how to use job related hand tools.
• Work from aerial lift and elevated platforms.
• Maintain records for repairs performed by completing work orders and other paperwork.
• Pick up parts from supply houses as needed for repairs.
• Clean and organize workstation, equipment and mechanical rooms to maintain a safe work environment.
• Promote and adhere to all recognized safety practices and standards.
• May help with set-ups for school related functions.
• Assist other trades as needed.
• Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted. Applicant must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and be authorized to drive by the college (Driving Requirements).
