Job Description:

The Department of Psychology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Executive Director of Programs to work in the Linda Ray Intervention Center.

The Linda Ray Intervention Center is a University-based Multidisciplinary Educational Services Center providing interventions for young children with disabilities or development delays, primarily from underserved communities. The Executive Director will be responsible for all programmatic, financial, and administrative operations of the center and will work closely with the Faculty Executive Director affiliated with the Center on its ongoing research programs.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

Programmatic



  • Oversees the direct supervision of the infants and toddlers in the program and ensures their safety and wellbeing in accordance with contractual standards set forth by Miami-Dade County Public Schools Pre-Kindergarten Program for Children with Disabilities, the Florida Dept. of Education Bureau of Exceptional Student Education (BESE), the Department of Children and Families Childcare Licensing Division, and the Florida Department of Health Childcare Food Program

  • Ensures that all childcare licensing standards are met, including annual staff trainings, background checks, and monitoring of children's files

  • Collaborates with Faculty Executive Director to explore new research and grant opportunities, developing IRB protocols as needed for new projects

  • Monitors existing project activities for fidelity, adherence to requirements and deadlines, data collection documentation, and writes reports for funding agencies as required

  • Develops and delivers parent workshops (virtual or in-person) and collects associated feedback

  • Oversees the maintenance and updating of student databases

  • Manages the childcare food program, submitting data monthly to secure reimbursements and overseeing the annual contract renewal with the Florida Department of Education

  • Maintains the Center's relationship with external partners, including local foundations, government officials, and community leaders

  • Produces quarterly newsletter to parents about community partners about Center initiatives, coordinates updates to Center website, and disseminates parent satisfaction surveys

  • Participates in all meetings and related activities stipulated by the Miami Dade County Public School Pre-K administrators



Financial



  • Leads continuous exploration of new funding initiatives/ideas through multiple potential sources at local, state or federal levels or University opportunities for collaboration

  • Oversees Center budget to ensure sustainability of project, identifies areas for cost saving as needed



Administrative



  • Develops and implements trainings for Center staff development and for community collaborative stakeholders

  • Serves as primary point of contact for building owner regarding any facility issues

  • Supervises Center staff including classroom staff, administrative team, and social worker; reviews and approves timesheets and time off requests; performs staff performance appraisals


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Master's Degree in relevant field required, Ph.D. in relevant field preferred

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in an education setting or with small children
