Job Description:

The School of Law has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Programs to work in Coral Gables Campus.

The senior manager, programs oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned program(s) within the department and works to ensure the successful implementation of all educational initiatives such as student registration, course management, faculty evaluations, and graduation clearances and commencement. Furthermore, the senior manager, programs serves as the liaison to leadership, faculty, students, and staff.



Serves as main point of contact for students, medical partners, and clients and remains available to assist with inquiries. Prepares, maintains, and reports on program effectiveness. Assists with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures. Stays abreast of legislation impacting program functions. Checks, verifies, organizes, and prepares grants, procurement, and other program relevant documents. Supervises, monitors, trains, and evaluates program staff members to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Coordinates logistics for program events and activities. Works with other departments to increase program awareness. Identifies new needs and emerging issues and develops new programs, initiatives, and resources. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required, Master's Degree in relevant field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated interest in social justice and working with vulnerable populations preferred. Paralegal certification highly desired

Department Specific Functions



  • Provides paralegal and management level administrative support to the Health Rights Clinic.

  • Prepares/reviews legal documents; coordinates litigation support; coordinates all law office activity.

  • Interacts with current and prospective clinic clients.

  • Manages and updates case management system and master case and project calendar.

  • Develops organizes and maintains electronic and paper filing system for clinic cases.

  • Ensures smooth operation of the clinic.

  • Manages attorneys' calendars, makes complex scheduling arrangements involving meetings and conferences.

  • Trains law students enrolled in the clinic in office protocols and case management system.

  • Provides day to day guidance and support to law student clinical interns on issues related to managing casework.

  • Assists with the maintenance of program budget and processes and monitor expenditures.

  • Assists with applications and accountability for external grants.

  • Updates the website, coordinates clinic newsletter and annual reports.

  • Coordinates all aspects of student recruitment and application process for the clinic.

  • Coordinates and participates in on-site and community events for the Law School's clinics

  • Provides administrative assistance and academic support to clinical faculty

  • Serves as a liaison between the clinic, the law school, the medical schools and other departments of the University.

  • Maintains and prepares statistical information and metrics about the clinic.

  • Serves as point of contact for emergencies and coordinates guest visits.

  • Coordinates meetings with faculty, students, clients and community stakeholders
