The Ray W. Howard Library is committed to teaching, creating, and managing library resources in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff. The Library connects people with knowledge and creates lifelong independent learners. The librarians are known for collaborative approaches to conceptual information literacy. Tutoring Services offers free tutoring support for all Shoreline students in a variety of formats, such as one-on-one tutoring, drop-in Learning Centers, and other modes of support.

Under the general direction of the Executive Director - Learning Resources & Continuing Education, the Associate Dean - Library & Learning Resources will provide leadership and administrative management for the Library and Learning Resources, which includes Tutoring Services. The Associate Dean will be directly responsible for the planning, implementation, and operation of the Library and Learning Resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:


Promote and support equity, inclusion, and multicultural awareness among Library & Learning Resources staff and faculty.
Manage/implement applicable provisions of the employee collective bargaining agreements.
Develop, reconcile, and manage area budgets within funding amounts in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Manage the hiring, mentoring, and retention of faculty and staff within the Library & Learning Resources.
Curate, publicize, and ensure assessment of the College’s faculty professional development activities.
Represent the Library & Learning Resources within the College, the community, in professional organizations, with state councils, and other agencies.
