Job Description:
Advance Care LLC is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist responsible for preparing and submitting Home Health and Out-Patient Therapy claims to Medicare, Medicaid, other Insurance, and Private Pay patients.
This role will also post payments and resolve denials as well as manage accounts receivable balances. Prepare ad hoc reports and provide data as necessary for financial reporting.

This individual will be part of a team however the ideal candidate will be self-motivating, capable of making independent decisions while understanding resources needed to complete tasks efficiently
Home Health or Outpatient Therapy Billing experience is desired!

Essential Job Responsibilities
Review data in billing systems (KanTime, Homecare Homebase, and Rehab Optima) for accuracy before submitting claims to insurance companies or patients, on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as determined by the Billing Manager.
Assist the Billing Manager in reviewing the patient census for accuracy.
Assist the Billing Manager in reviewing authorizations and eligibility data collected by Admissions.
Research, correct, and rebill denied claims, daily.
Upload/Download all 835 remits, reconcile and post, daily.
Post check and electronic payments to patient accounts, daily.
Assists the Staff Accountant at Covenant Woods reconcile the cash posted in the billing systems to the cash posted in the accounting system, weekly.
Scan/save required documents into the server for storage, daily. This will include remits and other payment documentation.
Use DDE to review days’ report to show any Medicare claim issues by patient and the 328s (to be rebilled), daily.
Review the Account Receivable reports and contact insurance companies and patients when we have outstanding claims to be paid, daily.
Assist the Billing Manager with the month end close process in all software systems (KanTime, Homecare Homebase, and Rehab Optima).


Job Requirements:
Qualifications
High School diploma or the equivalent
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in home health or out-patient therapy billing.
Must be detail oriented and well organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Must be able to work with a team or alone with minimal supervision.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.
Must have a very strong ability to learn new software and manage multiple software systems at the same time, with limited support from the Billing Manager.
Working knowledge of Homecare Homebase preferred.
Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel knowledge is required.
