Job Description:
The Public Relations Specialist I (Junior) authors newsletter articles, weekly plans, press releases, social media updates and supports media visits command functions and ceremonies

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Authors newsletter articles, weekly plans, press releases, and social media updates.
Maintains the NAMRU-D employee awards display board with official photographs.
Takes and maintains digital photographs of official command functions.
Manages the NAMRU-D publications program ensuring works are properly submitted for review and tracking publications through review process.
Assists the NAMRU-D Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program by receiving written requests for information for review, oversight, and compliance to appropriate NAMRU-D leadership, and tracks Congressional inquiries submitted to NAMRU-D.
Coordinates with Wright Patterson AFB Public Affairs office for support for media visits and plans, coordinates, sets up, and cleans up official ceremonies according to Navy protocol.
Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position will/will not have supervisory or management authority

Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma required; a bachelor's degree is preferred
Experience with event planning and coordinating meetings.
Experience with graphics/photography.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Software to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.
Have proficient writing &editing skills.
Must have a SECRET clearance or the ability to attain an Interim SECRET clearance in sixty (60) days.
Must pass a drug screen and a federal background check as a condition of employment.
Work Environment:

On-site climate-controlled office building; currently during COVID restrictions, telework form home may be authorized.
