Job Description:
Certified Millwrights are the rockstars of Tolko Industries Ltd. You don’t just do regular PMs, troubleshoot issues and keep machines running. You keep our business running and you do so in a way that keeps our employees and equipment safe.

We’re looking for 10 Red Seal Millwrights to join our High Prairie OSB Division at 18022 AB-2, High Prairie, Alberta, Canada T0G 1E0. This mill is undergoing an exciting major rebuild and modernization and we’d love to have you join our team! You may also be expected to work at a secondary location, located at West Mitsue Industrial Rd, Slave Lake, AB, T0G 2A0.

In this role you will:

Install repair and maintain all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings and hydraulic systems involved in the manufacturing process.

Keep our systems running smoothly by performing preventative and predictive maintenance. This includes inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.

Find safe, creative ways to boost equipment reliability and streamline our processes.

Apply your knowledge, skills and experience to troubleshoot issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes to keep the mill running.

Share your knowledge with the next generation of maintenance rockstars – our Apprentices.

What We’re Looking For:

Education

Certified Red Seal/Journeyman Millwright, or

Skilled Millwright or Fitter with eligibility to challenge the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) journeyman exam with at least 9600 hours of experience (eligibility must be verified through successful registration of Trade Secrets, Trades Qualifier – Work Experience Program).

Required Skills and Abilities (must haves):

Proficient in daily maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting of the following equipment:

Hydraulics

Drives (motors with gearboxes)

Conveyors

Pumps

Bearings

Able to accurately read blueprints, plans and schematic drawings.

Able to plan own work and follow work procedures and process.

Able to work safely at heights and have strong rigging practices.

Basic welding and pipefitting experience is beneficial.

Able to coach and mentor apprentices.

Able to read, write and speak fluently in English.

Experience with Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is beneficial.

Previous experience working in an OSB mill including working experience with OSB machinery is beneficial.

Other Requirements:

Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Must provide acceptable employment references.

Must be available to work various shift schedules such as: 12 hour rotating shift schedule comprised of days and nights (42 hours a week with an averaging agreement), and/or 4 x 10 hour day shift schedule (40 hours a week).

You will earn between $49.11 to $60.19 per hour (rates inclusive of any eligible bonus program payouts). This role is eligible for overtime.
