Job Description:
As a Junior Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include:
● Plan, organize and administer the accounting system for our establishment.
● Verify and post accounting records and prepare financial statements and reports.
● Develop and maintain accounting processes and procedures to reflect excellence in accounting.
● Prepare accounting and financial reports.
● Examine financial accounts and records before preparation of income tax returns.
● Review income, expenses, and payroll records to prepare monthly and yearly closings.
● Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
● Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.
● Deliver a high standard of accounting services following Canadian accounting principles.
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
● Education requirement: Canadian College Diploma in Accounting
● Accounting Knowledge: Proficiency in Canadian accounting principles (e.g., ASPE, IFRS).
● Financial Analysis: Ability to interpret financial data and assess company performance.
● Taxation Expertise: Knowledge of corporate taxes, such as, GST, PST, T4s, and other government filings.
● Audit Procedures: Expertise in internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
● Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar tools.
● Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
● Problem-Solving: Identifying financial discrepancies and implementing solutions.
● Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for preparing reports and advising clients.
● Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
● Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience:
● 1–2 years of relevant work experience in accounting roles.

● Ability to work under pressure.
● Ensure interaction with employees on all matters relating to payroll are handled with tact, sensitivity and professionalism.
● Great attitude, work ethic, and communication skills.
● Willingness to work in a team environment and take direction from senior management.
