Equity Research Associate (New York, NY) Mizuho Securities USA LLC

JOB DESCRIPTION: Gather and analyze industry information, and financial modeling. Build dynamic industry models consisting of integrated Income Statement/Balance Sheet/Cash Flow Statements. Write research reports, including company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps. Source alternative data sets and simplifying and summarizing relevant industry and company information for inclusion in research reports. Conduct proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape and analyzing industry/company news. Create and maintain relationships with industry contacts. Assist Senior Analyst in preparing for marketing events and conferences.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Economics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Additional Requirements: Series 63, 86 and 87 licenses.

Experience must include one (1) year with each of the following:

1. Analytical and financial modeling using Advance Excel.
2. Working in the Consumer sector and/or related industries and/or sell-side or buyside equity.
3. Conducting due diligence on investment banking transactions.
4. Updating earnings forecasts through quantitative and qualitative analyses.
5. Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
6. Maintaining data and content for investor presentations.
7. Authoring and publishing research reports communicating investment information for investors.
8. Bloomberg Terminal, Capital IQ, PowerPoint, Python.
