General SummaryThis position is responsible for organizing, monitoring, and leading facility maintenance operations to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to facility maintenance.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Maintain the facilities utilities to ensure that the facility is fully operational and functioning properly.
- Schedule and lead maintenance repair work by assisting with monitoring installation and servicing building to ensure support is available for the maintenance vendors and/or staff.
- Perform and complete a variety of carpentry tasks to maintain, repair, or modify buildings or facilities.
- Lead departmental or contract staff to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Review vendor proposals, budgets, work orders, and work cross-functionally to ensure Company procedures and guidelines are followed and optimized.
- Develop and maintain records and project status reports to ensure the status of work projects, work performed, budgets, materials used, and hours spent performing labor to manager are all accounted for.
- Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working condition; servicing tools and equipment as needed and returns damaged items for repair or replacement.
- Comply with federal regulations, policies, and laws to ensure construction, repairs, and proper environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal, or use of chemical substances are adhered to.
- Practice standard safety precautions; adhere to operator's instructions when using power tools; wear recommended protective equipment such as goggles, hearing protectors, and/or work gloves to ensure a safe working environment.
- Schedule and document regulatory inspections as required.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; or
- Completion of vocational or apprenticeship program in carpentry/building trades preferred.
Work Experience
- 2+ years of carpentry experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in carpentry under the supervision of a skilled carpenter preferred.
- 4+ years of increasingly building maintenance experience including some lead supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Develop and recommend system procedures related to assigned operations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- General working knowledge of facilities and equipment maintenance.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Good understanding of basic mathematics.
- Read and understand construction drawings, plans and specifications.
- Organize, implement, and direct facility maintenance operations and activities.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Base Salary Range: $73,034.00 - $109,552.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
