Assistant Network Engineer Rank: Assistant Manager - 2005 to 2013
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Handles installation, configuration of routers and setup WAN link connectivity from Head Office to 70 remote branches.
• Provide on-going system administration setup, troubleshooting, and configuration support for production network devices (routers, switches (mostly cisco),3Com, modem etc.).
• Assist in the optimization of existing network design and configuration (i.e server deployment, Cisco DHCP configuration, load balancing, WAN bandwidth accelerator, VoIP QOS etc.);
• Assist in proactive monitoring of the performance of the WAN/LAN infrastructure; Perform corrective measures for encountered problems within the network, assist in dispatch of field personnel for outages, interfaces with IT customers, field technicians, management, and vendors; Liaison with third party contractors together with telecoms partner (i.e. PLDT, Bayantel, Digitel, Globe, Eastern Telecom) for leased line/WAN support.
• Participate in projects where connectivity is required; Prioritize , schedule and plan work activities around project involvements.

Key Contributions:
• Reduced company telecommunication expenses by successfully migrating from point-to-point to frame relay IP-VPN (MPLS) hub and spoke network setup (a much cheaper monthly recurring charges)
• Reduced long distance telecommunications costs by utilizing Voice Over IP feature of Avaya PBX system thus eliminating considerable number of phone lines with fixed monthly recurring charges.

Telephony Specialist - 2005 to 2013

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain (diagnose and repair) voice communications networks.
• Perform routine administrative functions (create, adds, changes) related to normal operation of PBX particularly avaya-based digital systems.
• Configure and Coordinate major network installations and upgrades as necessary
• Provide support and basic training to end-users on how to use avaya phones (analog/digital) basic call features (i.e. call forwarding, call transfer, outside call dialing), network operations and helpdesk team personnel as requested.
• Interact with PBX vendors to maintain reliable system performance and related operational issues.

Technical Support (Desktop Support) - 1998 to 2013
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
• Designs, installs, upgrades, configures, and repairs local and wide area network hardware and infrastructure.
• Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
• Reads technical journals and/or manuals, attends vendor seminars and appropriate professional development workshops to learn about the maintenance and use of emerging computer hardware, Windows 2003/XP/Vista/7/8, Exchange Server, etc.
• Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
• Supervise third party service personnel for branch cabling systems, leased line connection installation and other outsourced technical services.
• Support Video Conference for all offices in the Wide Area Network

Helpdesk Support - 1998 to 2013
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance with the use of company Help Desk System to end users via telephone, e-mail and/or Microsoft remote desktop features. Maintained trouble-ticket system to record and track user calls and e-mails on common problems and complaints, escalating network-wide troubles to available technical support technician.
• Collected frequently asked questions and wrote formal answer to ensure accuracy of responses and consistency with other help desk personnel.
• Actively tracked and followed up on trouble tickets for a speedy response time to resolve the problem.
• Analyzed, evaluate frequently reported hardware related problems and submit written recommendation for desktop or parts replacement to quickly address the problem.
