Additional Information:
A degree in psychology enable me to gain a greater understanding of people. In addition to satisfying my own interest in human nature, I have a solid understanding of what makes people do certain things.
I love solving practical or theoretical problems; while focusing on helping people resolve complex emotional issues or developing solutions for real-world problems.
I am able to delve deeper into a understanding of the human mind and behavior by conducting research; while devoting my time and energy helping people overcome adversity, increase their well-being, and realize their full potential.
As a student I used a great deal of time learning about research methods and statistics; learning more about how to gather, organize, analyze, communicating complex information, & interpret data. Per diem positions; while a student, enabled me to establish professional relationships promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the
community throughout their lifetimes. My colleagues and I believe that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are defined by their own strengths, abilities and inherent value, not by their disability. We believe that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are entitled to the respect, dignity, equality, safety, and security accorded to other members of society, and are equal before the law. I have worked to teach families to understand their child’s special need and educate them to help us improve their child’s skills. Per diem positions enabled me to provide educational services to children with autism and learning disabilities; while implementing applied behavioral analysis (ABA). Resolve, helping individuals and families with disabilities or special needs to live, learn, work and play in their communities with equality, dignity and independence.
