Objective:
My objective is to secure a position
where I may provide counseling services
to individuals, couples, and families.
Additionally I would like to be able to
have at least a secondary focus on grief
and loss counseling.


Experience:
For more than three years I have been an
online faculty member in Human Services
with the University of Phoenix and have
been promoted to Faculty Advisor with
them as well. I have recently joined the
staff as an adjunct faculty member in
Human Services for Saint Leo University
in Marietta.

I have also worked with two different
agencies as a child/adolescent/family
therapist for at-risk families and
children. I have experience in a wide
variety of settings most of which
include initial assessments and
emergency assessments.

I also have skill as an evaluator in
psychosocial assessments and establish
rapport quickly with virtually every
client with whom I work. I am skilled in
completing necessary paperwork and do so
in a timely manner. I have been a
volunteer for several years with the
Give an Hour program in which mental
health professionals donate time monthly
for free counseling services for the
military and their family members.

I have worked in residential treatment
settings with those with addictions as
well as those with dual diagnoses. I
have also worked in a battered women’s
shelter, a teenage runaway shelter, a
hospice agency and in agencies providing
services through therapy to adolescents,
children and families. I am trained in
various theoretical techniques and
implement them according to what the
situation or the client calls for.

I am located in Athens, Georgia and have
been a Georgia resident for over 25
years. I am able to speak and write
clearly and understandably.


Education:
I hold a PhD in Human Services with a
specialization in Counseling, a graduate
certificate in Professional Counseling,
a graduate certificate in Marriage and
Family Services and a graduate
certificate in Diversity Studies. I also
hold an MSW and am licensed with the
State of Georgia as an LMSW and am a
Grief-Counselor Certified.

Skills:
I have unique insight into counseling
those suffering from loss and grief
issues. I am also skilled with several
therapeutic techniques from which I draw
after assessing the client and the
client issue to determine which
technique will best help the client
reach his or her goal. I have extensive
study in diversity and excel in aligning
with the clients regardless of their
backgrounds, experiences or belief
systems.
