Type of Position: Full-Time Permanent Availability Date: 02/02/2013

Objective:
The majority of my work experience since I was still in high school included construction/carpentry which I did with my step-father since I was 15 during the summer. This will not be included on my resume for an actual company because it was only done as side work as needed. I chose to switch careers into the telecommunications field in January 2012 as I had an opportunity with a company willing to train me in the telecom industry. With my strong work ethic and willingness to learn I could be a valuable asset to any company/team.

Experience:
Laborer/Jr. Technician DTREDS, Sterling, VA January 2012-January 2013

DTREDS hired me as a laborer and moved me up to doing the work of a Jr. Level technician in a year. I moved from Air National Guard Bases from Toledo and Springfield, OH to Great Falls, MT. We updated Cat5 to Cat6 cables installing Wi-Fi systems and fiber optic cabling throughout the buildings. In Montana I was on an outdoor work crew who set manholes and ran conduit lengths between buildings to run the new cables. This job requires attention to detail, multi-tasking and teamwork. Once we have the cables in place and labeled we had to splice and test each building to make sure it was running properly. I learned quickly what the company standards were and feel like I utilized my time on each job to the best of my ability.

Laborer/Carpenter InsurComm,
N. Hampton, NH July 2011-November 2011

I joined this team working as a laborer performing demolition after fires, boarding up the structure and then on some projects helping rebuild. This job required travel sometimes outside of the state to Massachusetts or Maine to work all week, returning home on the weekends. On the projects I assisted to help rebuild after water damage occurred I helped building and installing cabinets, laminate and tile flooring and rough framing. I also built a deck and helped the master electrician run new wiring.

Cashier Shell, AGR, Dover, NH
August 2010-November 2011

I took this job when I moved up to NH from Boston area because I was not familiar with any subcontractors or construction companies. Once I had met some, I began working two jobs at once. My position at Shell required providing excellent customer service to the patrons, cash handling including drops, taking inventory, stocking and re-ordering.

Laborer/Carpenter
Mills Construction, Northboro, MA
June 2005-January 2008

During my time with Mills Construction we completed restorations to residential homes after fires which included demolition, rebuilding of the load-bearing structures, floors (sub-floors, hardwoods, tile, linoleum), walls (framing and drywall), roofing, installing windows, painting (interior and exterior), and all the finish work in the bathrooms (tile work) and kitchens (installing ceiling fans, stoves, cabinets). I was also used as a day laborer to the electricians (running wires) and plumbers (running pipelines). This job required travel all around the states of MA.

Maintenance/Grounds Keeper
Cochran Jenson, Dorchester, MA
March 2004-August 2004

The Harbor Point Housing Community was a closed gate community that was 50% of the student housing for U-Mass Boston. I was employed as a seasonal hire to help with the turn-over process which included cleaning, painting, repairing any damages to the apartments (patching holes, replacing stoves/hoods, and assisting with AC and water heater installation). I was also given ground keeping duties (trimming bushes, over-hanging trees, and clearing litter from the streets and around trash receptacles).

Bar-back Sheraton Hotel, Boston, MA
August 2002-February 2004

This job required me to assist the bartenders and service staff for functions and banquets. I cleaned, re-stocked the bar and assisted the wait staff and bartenders with whatever they needed or requested.

Sales Associate
Knapp Video, S. Boston, MA
March 1999-November 2002

While in high school I worked here providing customer service. I organized the videos and games coming into the store and helped out when new inventory came in to stock and label.
