Objective:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. The serenity prayer most people associate with alcoholism and addiction, however it can be an inspiration for addressing life altering changes. Given the option of allowing something unfortunate to dictate your life or accepting it for what it is and move forward. When a workplace injury left me with two options; allow this accident to beat me or to turn it into a catalyst for change. I chose the latter.

At the age when most women are considering retirement I am working on a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. I need to do this for myself and my heirs, knowing you can take a worst case scenario and make it a blessing. Accepting this challenge I have strived to do well; becoming a member of Gamma Beta Phi and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Societies at NorthWest Arkansas Community College and consistently being on the President's List at Franklin University.

Skills:
Things I learned from interacting with people are first you need to like people, really like them. Second, understand that different is different not bad or wrong. The third thing is not to ever take anything personal, sometimes people just have bad days and you, unfortunately, are an easy target.

In my youth there were always animals around our house, all kinds of animals. I can not imagine a world without animals. I worked with my father on his ranch in Southern California taking care of and training horses. I believe there is a strong connection to how people treat animals to how they treat other people. Animals are my passion; I can not turn away a stray. Animal abuse is rampant; very few see this as an issue for they are not human, but the neglect and use of animals is not a far step from the neglect and use of children. I believe animals need humans to be their voice.

Belief in giving back to society in someway has always been a force in life for me. Persons should strive to leave this world a better place than when they arrived. Does this mean one person can change the world? No, it means if everyone does one thing then you have a large group doing one thing and this can bring about change and preservation. To give back, for myself, would to work for a non-profit organization. Non-profit organizations you work for the cause not for the money.
