Metrix Training acquired the education delivery function (and the contract for Tivoli education) from The Trinity Group, based in Houston, TX. My duties in education continued uninterrupted from the time of the acquisition. My training specialization has been with Tivoli Management Environment, a systems management product from IBM/Tivoli Systems. My professional certifications are current for Tivoli Infrastructure 4.1, Configuration Manager 4.2 , Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) 3.9, Tivoli NetView 7.x and Tivoli Monitoring 5.1. Several years ago, I also taught User Administration and Security Management, although I do not have experience with the current releases of these products.

As part of the training assessment process, I frequently assist in the construction of new classroom procedures and deployment strategies with IBM Technical Education Services in Atlanta. This process includes the creation and testing of new UNIX and Windows images for rapid deployment of classroom labs. The lab image assessment is typically accompanied by addendum documents describing deployment procedures, instructor notes, and modifications to the original instructions.

I leveraged my extensive experience with IMS/VS DB/DC and DB2 to become an instructor of curricula in IMS/VS DB programming, IMS/VS DC programming, and VSAM structure and use. The courses were designed for data processing professionals with a wide range of experience in the field of study, and involved lecture and hands-on exercises. I served as the course manager for the IMS/VS DB/DC currricula for two years. As course manager, I was responsible for product release research and preparation of updated course material. I was involved in the process of a major overhaul of the IMS/VS courses when Online Software was acquired by Computer Associates in 1992.

I joined Computer Associates following acquisition of Online Software International in 1992. After a brief transition, I receieved training in systems administration for UNIX and Windows platforms, and targeted training for a new systems administration product, CA-Unicenter, a midrange systems management product. By 1993, I was teaching most of the primary components of CA-Unicenter. Together with a team of other educators, I wrote three new training courses for CA-Unicenter. On completion of the courses, I managed a small team to prepare certification tests for the CA-Unicenter products using Prometric computer-based guidelines.

In 1995, I transferred to pre- and post-sales support. As a Technical Service Representative, I was responsible for assisting with client needs assessments for CA-Unicenter. I assisted several new and existing CA-Unicenter clients with product deployment, configuration, and knowledge transfer.
