Activity Director
• Primary job function consists of acting as the manager, planner, coordinator, and facilitator of all recreational and entertainment activities for over 200 residents of the Independent Living, Assisted Living and Care Center facilities of the top ranked Retirement Community in the state of Missouri for the past two years running. This responsibility requires the organizational skills necessary to maintain calendars and schedules, the ability to communicate with outside entities for booking various entertainment venues, and the ability to maintain and work within a $75K Activity Department expense budget.
• Supervisor of 9 activity aides, and 3 transportation workers, also responsible for staff work schedules, training and performance reviews.
• Facilitator and coordinator of all travel and logistics for entertainment trips, shopping, and doctor appointments for the residences of the facility, which also includes maintaining expense reports and travel logs.
• Responsible for the development of Care Plans for the residents, which includes meeting with family members to explain the plans in detail.
• Additional responsibilities included handling public relations and administrative duties, assisting residents with problems or complaints.
• Assists in recruiting new residents for the facility.
• Acting manager on duty for the entire campus one weekend per month, which also entails conducting facility tours for prospective new residents and their families.
