Objective:
I am a contractor currently working – temporarily - on a D.O.E. project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. I have been associated with the D.O.E. in Oak Ridge on other projects over the years, including assisting in the Public Affairs and Events department. I have also been associated with the D.O.E. as a Technical Specialist in the National Vehicle Fuel Emissions lab for the Environmental Protection Agency in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

As a former contract worker on three different bases in Afghanistan, I have working knowledge of governmental matters that will enable me to fill this Administrative Assistant position effortlessly. I would be especially valuable in managing “coordinating, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery plans”. My training and skills gained working in other fields, including fifteen years in the automotive industry, make it possible for me to surpass the requirements listed for this job. I am highly professional, creative, and have proven I perform well under pressure. I have demonstrated ability in working with the public and employees by giving orientation and security briefings to new hires, both overseas and on my current assignment with the highly visible Uranium Processing Facility project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. I work well with others and I thrive in a fast-paced environment. I have extensive experience in office procedures, organizing events and handling documents of a confidential/sensitive nature.

U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Oak Ridge, TN – Administrative Training Coordinator, Uranium Processing Facility Project: Ensure new hires receive fundamental training before beginning assignment, maintain profiles on all project employees, tracking training requirements, create training sessions, assign classes and modules, develop / revise training materials, create presentations for project-wide delivery.
Outstanding Accomplishment: Assisted in the development and evolution of the New Personnel Baseline Training Program; created project orientation tri-fold brochure for distribution by the Project Services Manager during initial orientation sessions; created a tracking database to make certain all new hires receive essential training; Subject Matter Expert (SME) for newly formed “Lunch and Learn” series.

U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Oak Ridge, TN – Secretary, Public Affairs and Communications Department: Supported planning and execution of seminars and special events. Served as point of contact for visitors, providing site and department information and facilitating the acquisition of visitor packets, badges, and vehicle registrations.
Outstanding Accomplishment: Chaired the quarterly Red Cross Blood Drive; assisted the plant historian in locating original employees and arranging a reception in their honor.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Ann Arbor, MI – Technical Support Specialist: Created and updated spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations for events and national conferences. Maintained and updated the local intranet web-site. Meeting minutes and note taker for the site due to expertise in shorthand.
Outstanding Accomplishment: Created and maintained a video display system in the main lobby that informed visitors and employees of the site’s history, daily activities, etc.

KBR, Inc. – Kandahar, Bagram, Kabul – Administrative Specialist/Travel Coordinator: Travel coordination for Bagram, Kabul and 15 other remote Forward Operating Bases. Managed supply and distribution of materials and construction equipment that were critical to base operations. Participated in daily base rules and protocols orientation / briefing of new hires and returnees.
Outstanding Accomplishment: Created and maintained an Excel spreadsheet to track employee movements for accountability purposes.


Administrative Specialist, KBR Operations Department: Liaison to the Human Resources department with responsibility to coordinate travel, housing and payroll matters for deployed tradesmen. Other responsibilities included office management and administrative assistance to the Site Foreman.
Outstanding Accomplishment: Personally delivered mail via Chinook helicopter to associates working in a remote Forward Operating Base.
