I am a personable, self starter with the ultimate career goal of Program/Project Management. My greatest asset is working and cooperating with others combined with my ability to see the big picture.
More specifically related to my course of study (BS Mechanical Engineeering), I have enjoyed Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, in particular the energy analysis associated with both subjects (i.e. what can you do with the energy and how is energy lost as examples.). I also liked construction design (but that is based solely on my experience at Irondale Industries), although I did study it in my Statics course and Mechanics of Solids, as well as Finite Element Analysis. I recently enjoyed studying the aerodynamic principles of airfoils in a wind tunnel (during my Thermal/Fluids Lab class) by obtaining pressure data at various air flow velocities and correlating that to Reynolds numbers, lift force, and lift coefficients vs. angle of attack of the airfoil. I really haven't disliked any subject in my course work.
My engineering work experience is limited to Irondale Industries (its business is refurbishing concrete plants) and the Aviation Engineering Directorate (AED) of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command where I assisted on various engineering functions related to the Apache Helicopter. The most interesting observation while with AED was the breath of engineering disciplines required for the design of a sophisticated helicopter. Electrical, Software, Aerospace Engineering and more specifically to Mechanical Engineering finite element analysis, hydraulics, aerodynamics, etcetera are all integrated into the design.
Hobbies and interests include sports, particularly soccer. I play Adult League Soccer and in High School I started on the Randolph High School (Huntsville, Alabama) State Championship team.
I am a well rounded individual which comes from multiple family related job relocations in my youth. I have gone to schools in St. Louis, Austin Texas, Detroit, High Wycombe England and Huntsville Alabama which I believe has contributed to my ability to adapt and integrate into new environments.
