CONSTRUCTION AND FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Versatile senior manager who offers extensive OPMA experience in construction, facilities and project management in both the private and public sectors. Constructed over 2 million square feet in Oregon and California. Project Manager, Beaverton School District, No. 48, Beaverton, OR 7/2007 V 6/2009
Directed the project planning, coordination with agency approvals, scheduling, contract administration, purchasing and close out documentation for the McKinley Elementary School Addition and Renovation.
X Planned and completed the construction of the 24,000 s.f. addition and office space with occupancy in record time of eight months utilizing a competitive CMGC contract of $9 million.
X Obtained consultant cost estimates, approved design documents & competitive contractor selection for $11 million Performing Arts building for the Arts & Communications Magnet Academy.

Capital Projects Coordinator, City of Coronado, Coronado, CA 9/2000 V 7/2007
Managed the project planning, scheduling, and tracking, local business owners, community groups and the general public in support of the Citys Capital Improvement Programs. Projects included:
X Planned, bid and coordinated multiple team members to complete construction, purchasing fixtures and equipment, engineering and closeout of the 39,000 s.f. $9 million, Public Library Addition and Renovation project.
X Installed three public art mural projects worth over $1.25 million in the Library.

Project Manager, State of Oregon, Department of Corrections, Salem, OR 4/1997 V 9/2000
Directed the RFQ, RFP announcements for selection of the A/E consultants and the general contractor.
X Construction plans utilized the CM/GC process for the planning, siting, property management and construction of the new Womens Prison and Intake Center.

Project Manager, Port of Portland, Airport Facility, Portland, OR 1995 -1997
Prepared the cost engineering, purchasing and consultant coordination on the TEEP 2 expansion project.

Site Project Manager, US Bancorp, Corporate Facilities Division, Portland. OR 1991 V 1995
Managed the completion, tenant revisions and move-in process for the 389,000 s.f. $55 million Columbia Center, corporate centralized data systems and regional operations center.
X Corrected a one month delay in construction for staff occupancy to occur on schedule and achieve a $400,000 savings.
X Initiated the collaborative process with IBM engineers that allowed the move in of a multi million dollar mainframe computer over two days.
X After move in I coordinated tenant plans for the corporate re-organization of departments, branches and technology functions within the Data Center.

US Marine Corps Reserve, Camp Lejeune, NC February V July 1991
Senior Engineer and Facilities Officer, Lt. Colonel USMCR. Executed the management of all construction projects left in progress by the disposition of the Second Marine Expeditionary Forces mobilized to Kuwait during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

Promoted to Colonel 1994 and assigned to logistics office of general staff, 4th Marine Air Wing in New Orleans, LA.
X Managed 10 staff in logistics functions in support of 45 Marine Air Stations and Reserve Centers across the country.
X Achieved C-1 Equipment Readiness for first time ahead of other Reserve Commands. In 1997 transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA for assignment with I MEF as Command Engineer and liaison officer for IMACE. Retired June 2002 with 30 years of meritorious service.

Built four clinics and hospital ER wing addition in two years from design to completion.
