Objective:
Dear Sir or Madam:

I am interested in the possibility of
working as a Geologist. Previously, I
received my B.S. in Geology from Addis
Ababa University. I have worked for four
years as a geologist and this gave me
the chance to be involved in many
geological studies. I also supervised
the drilling and completion of over 150
wells. I was enrolled in South Dakota
School of Mines and Technology as a
graduate student majoring Geology &
Geological Engineering. I graduated on
July 2010 with an emphasis in
Groundwater and Environment.

I have great interest working in my
profession and I have practical
experience in the field. I also have
worked as a site manager and drilling
supervisor. My skills and abilities
include applications of software such as
Visual MODFLOW 4.3, AQTESOLV, Aquitest,
Aquichem, PHREEQC, HEC-HMS and ArcGIS to
analyze and model practical challenges.
I have a good knowledge of MS Excel, MS
Word and Power Point that help me to be
more productive.

My M.S. thesis was on sediment mercury
geochemical behavior and watershed
influences for South Dakota lakes and
impoundments. We have sampled eleven
lakes and determine the sources and
processes that were responsible for the
elevated mercury fish tissue in South
Dakota lakes. I have also actively
participated in research about the
thermal stability of limestone waste for
recycling in the manufacturing of cement
after arsenic removal from drinking
water. So I have a total of six years
professional experience in my field.
