Vice President In-Store Presentation: July 2007 –
Feb 2009
Created and directed a team of ninety-nine
responsible for significantly changing the 'look and
feel' of the existing and future domestic store base.
Supported three functional teams: Presentation,
Visual Design/In-Store Communication and Print
Sourcing & Production. Developed multifaceted
relationships and processes resulting in the
corporate adoption of numerous multi-million
dollar platform initiatives.

Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager
Meat & Poultry: Mar 2005 - Jun 2007
Collaborated with the major protein producers to
create new forms of meat merchandising solutions
that dramatically transformed the existing product
offerings, resulting in improved market share and
measured customer acceptance. Led the creation,
development, and implementation of a strategic
three-year planning process, resulting in a
cumulative sales growth of $2 billion and $350
million in gross margin. Developed and
implemented individually tailored associate growth
plans resulting in 33% of the existing management
staff being identified for promotion.

Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager
Meat /Deli/Seafood: Jan 2002- Feb 2005 Drove
divisional sales gains of over 100% through
improvements in all divisional merchandising
programs by aggressively seeking and activating
focused customer insights. Created a new form of
customer driven demonstration program designed
around seasonal fluctuations and demographic
patterns. Tailored the merchandise mix to the
specific geographic and demographic needs of the
diverse communities our stores served.

Wal-Mart International
Vice President, Regional Manager: Jul 2000 - Dec
2001 Provided
influential leadership for the International Food
Merchandising teams in China, South Korea, Puerto
Rico and Germany. Helped to lead the design/look
and feel, as well as the merchandising/operational
execution for the opening of the first Supercenter
in Puerto Rico. Supported the due diligence
required for the successful acquisition of the Amigo
food chain.

Wal-Mart International, Germany
Vice President, General Manager Food
Merchandising: Jan 1998 - Jun 2000
One of the first three expatriated senior
management leaders recruited for the team
responsible to acquire, transition and initiate two
different hypermarket/supermarket strategies in
Germany. Responsibilities included leading the
grocery merchandising team and creating the
design layouts to transform each of the existing
retail stores. Reinvented the weekly circular
marketing plan. Created, developed and
implemented a private label food program.

Vice President, DMM Deli/Bakery: Jan 1996 – Dec
1997 Recruited to lead the buying team responsible
for the creation of
all merchandise solutions for the Wal-Mart stores.
Successfully built a staff of diverse and talented
buyers. Drove double digit comps and profits
annually. Instrumental in developing the first
comprehensive localized total food-merchandising
plan adopted at Wal-Mart.

Vice President Regional Manager: Jul 1993 - Dec
1995 The
first dedicated regional leader identified to
establish, inspire and grow the Supercenter/one-
stop-shopping concept. Responsibilities included
leading a group of 100+ stores. Converted and
relocated the existing Wal-Mart stores from the
general merchandise only offering to the
Supercenter combination format. Developed a
dynamic field leadership team consisting in part, of
10 District Managers.
