My man job was duties of a registered veterinary technician. I ran the lab area, took radiographs, and prepared patients before, after and during surgery. I would place iv catheters, obtain samples of body fluids by way of phlebotomy, catheterization or cystocentesis, fecal loops. I can perform dental cleaning and polishing with cavitron, I can run basic ultrasounds, ecgs, Doppler blood pressures, pulse ox, tonopen and more. I also took care of outpatient appointment doing tprs, gathering any lab testing materials, histories; nail trims, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, putting charges in the computer, getting medications labeled, and collecting fees.
I was in charge of calling follow ups to see how sick or surgical patents are doing at home. Client educating on anything needed from giving meds to SQ fluids or whatever needed to be taught.
