Principal Auditor Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts
Prepares for and completes entire audits or sections of audits, including operational controls, and reviewing data, procedures, compliance conformance to accounting standards, and other relevant criteria.
Conducts audits of documents related to financial reporting of Medicaid costs of nursing homes.
Interviews client personnel and perform walk-throughs of transactions and tests to understand client operations.
Assembles and assess findings, draw conclusions, and write report narratives based on audit findings.
Serve as auditor-in-charge of the audits of Medicaid cost reports filed by all healthcare facilities in the state of Georgia for Medicaid reimbursement. Responsibilities as an auditor-in-charge include training staff auditors assigned to the audit team as well as delegate and review the audit work of staff auditors assigned to the team.
With an average of 4 audits assigned per audit team per fiscal year, successfully completed a total of 8 audits as team leader.
Promoted from staff auditor to advanced staff auditor within 7 months of employment. Was further promoted to principal auditor after 1 year as an advanced staff auditor.
