Responsible for planning, developing, executing all HR functions for a multi-state mortgage company that is INC. 500, Entrepreneur Magazine (Top 100), and Northcoast 99. Responsible for creating and implementing first strategic planning and budget process by planning, facilitating and executing a retreat in Las Vegas. Created and implemented first job descriptions and performance evaluations. Utilized internal television station as a method of broadcasting sales goals and achievements and primary employee communication.

Responsible for all aspects of project management for a start up of a trade association of non-profit residential providers for the purpose of sharing human resource consultation. Facilitated the development of the group and worked on grants to fund the initiative. Provided support and research on recruitment and retention as part of a two year grant funded project. Responsible for project management for an executive group, human resources group and individual agency teams.

Responsible for reporting on grant, data collection, and planning. The focus of the grant was a study of recruitment and retention of front line workers in Cuyahoga County.

Responsible for the start-up and project management of a statewide trade association for companies in a human service field. Conducted strategic planning, marketing, product development, sales, and budgeting. The network began with 5 local providers and is now a statewide network doing $70 million dollars worth of business in Ohio. Responsible for the development and implementation of best practices sharing including state-wide conferences, a website, a fax-back service and committees. Responsible for the development of provider marketing strategies including consumer satisfaction surveys, benchmarking, publications and care management tools. Responsible for initiating the replication of a national recruitment and retention study. Responsible for creating and implementing a number of cost-savings programs including telephone service, self-funded/ bonded unemployment, utilities, and EAP.

VICE PRESIDENT HUMAN RESOURCES (1994 to 1996)
W.G. Nord Mental Health Center

Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Department in a multi-disciplinary professional organization including, policy and procedures, Hiring and Employee Relations, job evaluation and compensation, annual personnel budget of 7.5 million, agency budget of $12 million. Chaired the personnel committee of the Board of Trustees, conducted strategic planning, and did organizational development.

At the Nord Center, I provided leadership to a strategic planning process for a major reorganization around managed care issues resulting in the development of a radically different table of organization. I was responsible for the project management of the development and implementation of an ASO (Administrative Services Organization). I worked on the development of the North Harbor Network, which is a network of mental health providers who jointly contract.

Responsible for strategic planning, marketing, product development, sales, and budget for an Employee Assistance Program covering 5000 lives. Supervise EAP employees and contractors, develop new business, set rates, and develop systems for tracking utilization and quality assurance.

VICE PRESIDENT/TREASURER (1982 TO 2003)
M.R. Plank Construction Company

Responsible for assisting in the development of a new home improvement company. Assisted with and initiated start-up activities including marketing, contracts, banking, financing, systems development. Provided project management for all IS functions, website, marketing, and systems development. Responsible for accounts payable, business records, accounting information, and customer tracking. Dealt with trade shows, Better Business Bureau, advertising, and trade associations. Contracted for the development and initiation of an information system as the business grew. Responsible for purchasing, managing and accounts payable for rental property. Business has grown from $100,000 gross to close to $2,000,000 gross in 13 years.

Was acting Program Director in addition to Director of Human Resources for six months early in my tenure. Following that, I was responsible for all aspects of Human Resources Department for a large community residential services agency providing residential and support services to Stark, Summit and Mahoning Counties.
