Senior Desk Sergeant
Serves as a Supervisory Police Officer with duties as a Desk Sergeant for the Ft Lewis Military Community. Ensures that assigned personnel properly execute law enforcement duties for the installation. Primary responsibility of the position is to ensure compliance with and enforce a full range of federal, state, local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations as they pertain to law enforcement work, and the supervision of others engaged in such duties. Directs and coordinates emergency responses between law enforcement, security, fire, and other emergency units, and receives and acts on calls concerning reports of violations or complaints. Responsible for the proper and accurate preparation of law enforcement related reports and forms, including statements, advice of rights documents, accident reports, field investigation reports and other correspondence as necessary.
Possesses arrest and apprehension authority and is required to carry a firearm in the performance of his duties.
Responsible for the development and training of new DA Police and Military Police Desk Sergeants.
Uses the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and other local networks to provide law enforcement information to police officers and to coordinate law enforcement efforts and information with other civilian and military agencies throughout the United States.
Ensures that the work assignments of subordinate employees are carried out, in compliance with organizational SOPs, policies, current law enforcement techniques and skills.
Conducts employee performance evaluations, making formal and informal appraisal of work, giving advice, counsel and/or instructions to subordinates as required.
Interacts daily with numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies concerning criminal incidents that have occurred on and off the Military Reservation.
Reviewed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and assisted in updating and implementing new procedures. Improved patrol activity efficiency and customer service.

Fort Lewis, Washington US 1/2004 - 2/2005
Personnel Security Officer
Served 13 months in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Selected by Director as Personnel Security Officer. Trained 24 non-law enforcement personnel and formed three Protective Service Details. Supervised security operations for three CEOs assigned to Iraq for 12 months. Teams successfully accomplished missions in extremely hazardous conditions, with 0 accidents or incidents.
