About This Position

The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 2. The Research Associate 2 contributes to the University's research activities under the supervision of senior staff. Moreover, the incumbent understands, interprets, and complies with research policies and protocols.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as site directed mutagenesis, shRNA, Crispr/Cas9, DNA/plasmid cloning, real time PCR

  • Perform rodent in vivo surgeries in CNS injury models

  • Perform primary neuronal (and glial) cell cultures

  • Keep a detailed and accurate record of all research performed and to assist in writing of grants

  • Present findings at lab meetings, departmental seminars and national and/or international conferences

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a life science field of study with at least two years of relevant experience. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
