Responsible for assisting the General Ledger Manager in the day to day processing of journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensures general ledger transactions are in the correct accounts.
II.Essential Job Functions:
A.Prepare and execute month end journal entries and other month end activities.
1.Coordinate with other departments and appropriate plants to ensure necessary processes are completed in order to facilitate the month end close process.
2.Complete pre-close activity (e.g., journal entries, responding to email, and resolving issues discovered during close after modules closed).
3.Submit entries for approval and posting.
B.Conduct all reconciliation activity.
1.Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
2.Conduct Construction in Process reconciliations.
3.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and consult with manager on inconsistencies and concerns.
C.Conduct expense account reviews and analyze the data in each expense account.
D.Understand TBA's business flows to ensure appropriate coding and data is captured.
E.Collaborate with plant controllers to consolidate items into TBA's A&F functions.
F.Approve Purchase Requisitions.
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Business required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
*Entry to four (4) years of work experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll processing, or other general accounting and finance function.
*At least one (1) year of general accounting experience (i.e., reconciliations) preferred.
*General understanding and working knowledge of basic accounting principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Japanese Sarbanes Oxley Act (JSOX).
*Ability to communicate accounting-related information on paper, in conversation, and to audiences with varying levels of understanding.
*Ability to make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
*Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work efficiently within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations.
*General business knowledge.
*Strong attention to detail.
*Ability to process and maintain high volume of general ledger records for special accounts and projects.
*Basic math skills and analysis capability.

*Japanese, Spanish, and/or Portuguese would be helpful, but are not required.
*ERP System experience (Oracle preferred).
*Prior work experience with Payroll software (Kronos preferred), PRMS (Pansophic Resource Management System), and/or Hyperion a plus.
*Requires proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access(database management).
*Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required.While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
