Job Description:
The Program Specialist works in collaboration with the Senior Program Specialist and cluster team members to ensure the effective and efficient management of daily programmatic operations for an assigned sub-cluster of residences. In particular, the Program Specialist coordinates person centered services to individuals supported, individual supported funding and resources as well as all other formal and informal supports available to the individual supported in their residence, Day Program and their community. The Program Specialist partners with the cluster team’s Team Facilitator to co-manage an assigned sub-cluster and provide supervision to Direct Support Professionals.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Visits assigned individuals residing in alternate living arrangements to include PDS programs, Life Sharing programs, hospitals and rehabilitation as applicable.
• Maintains quarterly visits to individuals supported day program.
• Maintains compliance with specific licensure requirements as indicated in the 6400/6500/OBH regulations – Program Specialist responsibilities under their case load.
• Review Individual outcomes and updates on THERAP in their case load.
• Provides effective training, mentoring and supervision of DSP as it pertains to documentation of individual outcomes as per their respective ISP
• Co-manages with the Team Facilitator the recruitment, interviewing and orientation processes for their assigned sub-cluster.
• Completes Annual Trainings for all DSP under their case load and compliancy for Annual Provider Monitoring
• Assists in identifying any program issues needing resolution, and provides verbal and written guidance to Cluster members and DSPs whenever necessary.


Job Requirements:
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited university / college and one year supervisory experience with individuals with disabilities in Adult Services preferred. Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ work experience with people with disabilities in Adult Services. Associate’s degree / 60 credits from an accredited institution and four years’ work experience with people with disabilities are required. Minimum educational experience preferred in one of the following areas: Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Public Health, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Therapeutic Recreation;
• Work experience in an industry that supports individuals (adults and children) with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities required. Experience supporting individuals with Mental / Behavioral Health diagnosis will be considered provided candidate can demonstrate work with individuals with IDD.
• Strong leadership, management and supervisory skills. Demonstrated ability to manage staff, achieve outcomes and support the implementation and operation of Residential Services programs and activities;
• Working knowledge of regulatory standards, excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Demonstrated teaching and management skills. Strong problem solving, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Possess a valid driver’s license and two years driving experience. May be required to provide automobile insurance and vehicle registration; Incumbent may be required to transport individual in personal vehicle
• Ability to meet both the physical and essential requirements of the position as outlined in job description.
