About ASG
Aggregate Space Gallery (ASG) is an artist-run, nonprofit exhibition space in Oakland, making
immersive conceptual art experiences accessible to our community through exhibitions, films,
lectures, and performances.
We are dedicated to the exploration and presentation of innovative sculptural and new
media works by regional artists and thinkers. We envision an Oakland where a diverse
community of artists can make and experience art in a safe space with access to production
tools and hands-on guidance, creating work that fuels critical dialogue in a time when it is
desperately needed.

Project Need
Aggregate Space Gallery (ASG) is currently accepting applications for one non-paid Web
Multimedia Production Internship position beginning immediately.
About the role:
This internship will focus on producing video and photo pieces from past and present ASG
exhibitions and events to be used for promotion on our website, social networking sites, grant
proposals, and for generating public interest in our programs. Interns will receive individualized
training in various aspects of communications and marketing management. Interns will also
learn a variety of tools across multiple platforms to broaden ASGʼs outreach efforts and to
develop new strategies of community and audience engagement.
Although this is an unpaid position, this is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to take
the reins on interesting projects, think creatively to help shape the future of ASG, meet cool
people and have fun doing it. You will receive a well-rounded experience working in a
nationally recognized institution as well as advance and sharpen your communication skills,
exposure to and literacy with digital and technological tools used in nonprofits. This role is ideal
for someone looking to gain experience in the arts. At the end of a successful internship, our
staff will be happy to provide a written reference supporting your future.


Job Requirements:
Time commitment:
3-6 Months, Flexible availability, with at least 5 hours/week on Tuesday-Saturday. Some
evening hours are required to cover events and gallery openings.
The gallery is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12:45-5:00 pm. Special events
include opening receptions (usually in the evenings), First Fridays (6-10 pm), Second Saturday
Artist Talks (10:30 am-12:30 pm).
Responsibilities:
● Record video and/or Photography of events and gallery exhibitions
● Produce and edit videos for Vimeo, social media and our fundraising campaign from
past and present events
● Assess and organize growing institutional archive
Who we are looking for:
● Experience with Mac OS and Windows 10 operating systems.
● Basic working knowledge of camcorders and/or DSLR for video.
● Basic working knowledge of lighting techniques.
● Basic or intermediate knowledge of video editing in Adobe Premiere.
● Willingness to learn proper codecs and file formats for web video production.
● Photoshop/Illustrator experience for designing title graphics.
● Ability to storyboard or outline for planning video and audio content.



● Social media experience (Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
● Photography, graphic and web design skills are a huge plus.
● A sincere interest in and/or experience working with nonprofit art organizations.
● Excellent verbal communication skills.
● Must be able to manage time and meet deadlines.
