Job Description:
Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care provided to residents.
Monitors and evaluates the performance of affiliated providers on an ongoing basis.
Promotes patient safety through activities such as educational materials, health management systems, credentialing and pharmacy management.
Defines expectations for each indicator using acceptable standards of care and by routinely evaluating opportunities to improve the delivery of care and services.
Organizes data for trend analysis and pattern assessment.
Pursues opportunities to improve care provided to residents by monitoring patient satisfaction, ensuring access, availability and service delivery against standards and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Promotes and monitors continuity and coordination of care among medical and behavioral health providers participating in resident care.
Maintain network provider involvement in and awareness of credentialing activities.
Conducts ad hoc primary care physician and behavioral health site visits and medical record reviews to ensure provider compliance with standards.
Conducts ongoing evaluations, monitoring and documentation of the effectiveness of interventions and recommendations of activities.
Promotes and enhances education aimed at residents and providers to facilitate high quality care providing a systematic complaint procedure to ensure all complaints are reviewed and resolved in a consistent and timely manner.
Provides a systematic grievance/appeals process to ensure all grievances/appeals are reviewed and resolved in a consistent and timely manner.
Promotes health education, use of preventive health care services and annually monitor results.
Protects the confidentiality of data and medical records of residents, provider, vendor and/or employer sensitive information.
Monitors timeliness standards on a quarterly basis assessing provider satisfaction.
Communicates regularly with residents, providers and staff the findings of the Program to ensure its effectiveness and support.
Orients new staff to the Program.
Possesses strong clinical and analytical skills, be detail oriented, and have excellent customer service skills.
Be well organized and adaptive to fluctuating working assignments and have a positive attitude in work style in order to accomplish the goals of quality improvement.
Evaluates, no less than annually, the effectiveness of the Program and recommended areas for improvement.
Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
A typical way of demonstrating the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduated from a two-year medical program or college with a Associate or Bachelorís Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Counseling, Chemical dependency or a related field; AND three (3) years of increasingly experience performing work related to charting and examining medical records for the purpose of utilization review and Medi-Cal compliance.
