Position Summary:
Database Application Developer responsible for developing database applications in Oracle and SQL Server databases to aid application development under client-server/SOA architecture supporting ETL operations, data replication, event-based data forwarding and queueing for databases operating in transactional and data warehousing environments. Database Application Developer will also take on basic DBA activities in managing databases. This position requires technical level expertise as well as the ability to interface with users of all levels.
Position Requirements



  • College degree (B.S.) in computer science.

  • 3-4 years database backend application development experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS required.

  • Experience with developing backend application modules using PL/SQL and Java in Oracle and T-SQL in SQL Server required.

  • Good understanding of SQL and constructing SQL statements native to Oracle and SQL Server systems required.

  • Must possess skills to code subprograms, packages and web applications in PL/SQL and Java for Oracle RDBMS.

  • Experience writing Bash/PowerShell scripts to schedule database application objects as jobs.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues related to code execution, data aggregation, loading and replication issues, networking/connectivity issues, security issues etc.

  • Handled database backups and restores, and installed/patched database binaries and upgraded databases.

  • Achiever, self-motivated, self-responsible, and accountable.

  • Ability to follow standard processes and communicate effectively with the team regarding technical, progress and critical issues.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem solving, organizational skills, and decision making skills oriented on obtaining desired results.

  • Willing to provide support in evenings and weekends and be available by company supplied phone.
