Job Description:

Merrill is building a new platform to provide powerful and innovative solutions to enable our clients to manage the most complex deals on the planet as efficiently as possible.

We want to be the easiest, fastest, and most intuitive way to progress deals to a successful outcome - enabling the bankers, lawyers and professionals we work alongside to focus on doing what they do best for their clients.



The new core platform is a microservices architecture with multiple web/mobile applications built on top. We are leveraging a combination of open source and third-party frameworks/tools such as Netflix Eureka (service discovery), Google Apigee (API gateway), MongoDB (NoSQL), Redis (Cache), RabbitMQ, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (platform as a service), Microsoft Azure (cloud platform), Jenkins (CICD), and many more.



Responsibilities



  • Understands and practices agile software development and management

  • Produces quality metrics on the SDLC process

  • Ensures team software is monitor-able and HA

  • Proactive in identifying and clearing roadblocks for the team

  • Continues to contribute bug fixes and small features without becoming a bottleneck for the team

  • Excels at getting the team to focus on the highest-impact projects

  • Able to lead recruiting efforts and determine headcount for their team

  • Partners effectively with product to manage scope and deliverables for the technical side of the product roadmap

  • Sets clear expectations for team members; solicits, synthesizes and delivers feedback

  • Manages and understands the entire data ecosystem and effectively coaches others on the team involved in the same work

  • Communicates timeline, scope and technical concerns to pillar partners

  • Leads delivery of major initiatives on clear timelines

  • Able to identify areas of strategic technical debt and provide cost/benefit analysis for eliminating this debt and suggested timelines for how to prioritize it

  • Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus

  • Understand and be able to explain the technical architecture of Analytics

  • Own the short-term (quarterly and annual) planning process for your team

  • Establish working professional relationships with other key leads and director
