Job Description:

UHealth IT has an amazing opportunity for a Systems Engineer III who will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, supporting and managing the University's data infrastructure systems. The incumbent will play a leading role in the administration of Unix (AIX) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) platform servers, enterprise SAN, NAS, and cloud storage infrastructure. This effort will be in support of clinical/healthcare, research and administrative university functions. The candidate will be required to ensure the high availability, disaster recovery, security, and integrity of multiple infrastructure platforms in support of the University's health system. Responsibilities will also include leading technical teams in the implementation of new systems infrastructure, upgrades, hardware refreshes, maintaining existing and legacy systems, resolving problems, developing and enforcing technical procedures.

In-depth technical understanding of enterprise systems infrastructure such as IBM Power servers, networked SAN and NAS environments is required. Reliable and proven proficiency in AIX, RHEL, CentOS and Windows server operating system platforms, networked storage (Dell Compellent, Isilon, VMAX, EqualLogic, IBM V), fabrics (Cisco MDS) and cloud infrastructure, server virtualization/hypervisor platforms, scripting (Korn, Awk), high availability and disaster recovery tools is expected.

The candidate will be responsible for the strategic development of plans to implement and maintain the University of Miami data systems infrastructure; obtaining leadership's commitment for such plans, as well as evaluating and recommending all technologies required to complete them. Additionally, leading technical teams in the implementation of new systems infrastructure, maintaining existing systems, resolving problems, maintain concise reports, develop and enforce procedures.


Education:Bachelor's degree inrelevant field, Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
