Job Description:
Employer: BCAGR Best Hops Inc.
Work location: Seabird Island Band, Lot 110 Chowat Rd., Agassiz BC, V0M 1A2
Title of position: 31 Farm Workers
Terms of employment: Full-time, year-round work
Duties :
BCAGR Best Hops Inc. is looking for farm workers who will be able to do and/or be trained to do the following duties:
Plant new crops during spring after the last frost has passed and the soil is warm.
Set training wires
Train new shoots by wrapping clockwise
Harvest when cones are ready
Strip the cones from the woodbines and remove unwanted leaves and stem material from the final product
Clean up hop plant debris
Winterize irrigation lines
Break up the soil around the plant to help keep the soil from becoming too compact
Place straw over the plant to help protect it during the cold months
Dry, condition, and baling the crops
Prune the hop crowns
Mulch crops with well-rotted organic matter in spring.
Wages: $ 13.85/hr for 40 hours/week
Work setting: On-farm, Agassiz, BC

Job Requirements:
