Job Description:
Cloverwood Independent Living in Pittsford, NY is seeking a Full Time Cook. The Cook in this position is scheduled to work 4-days per week, 10:30 am to 8:30 pm.

What will I do as a Cook?

Review menus prior to preparation of food.
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
Prepare and serve alternative menu items as needed.
Inspect special diet orders to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Executive Chef/Cook.
Ensure all dining procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
Ensure menus are filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department staff as well as with other departments within the community to ensure food service can be properly maintained to exceed the needs of the residents.
Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Executive Chef and/or Dining Services Director immediately.
Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
Assist in the inventory and storage of in-coming food, supplies, etc., as necessary.
Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate or as directed.


Job Requirements:
Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, a High School education.
Associates degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality or Business preferred.
Experience: One (1) year culinary experience in a hotel, country club, restaurant, or senior living community.

Licenses / Certifications: ServSafe certification and/or county Level 1 Food Worker Certification required (or willingness to obtain after hire).
