Job Summary:

The Manager - Leave Administration is responsible for the company-wide leave program including protected (e.g. FMLA) and non-protected time off, ADA/ADAAA, STD, LTD and will be responsible for monitoring and administering claims, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel and lawyers.Serves as main point of contact for vendor relationship related to employee leave programs.Reviews and resolves escalated personal and FMLA leave of absence issues and maintain strong relationships with absence management and disability program vendor partners. Ensures continuity of care for employees to ensure their progress through various leave stages is as seamless as possible.


Areas of Responsibility:

Responsible for overseeing all programs and plans related to Leaves of Absence (paid and unpaid).

Serve as subject matter expert for all leave of absence programs, in particular STD, LTD, FMLA and any state statutory programs (CA, NJ, NY, WA, Puerto Rico, etc) ensuring each program is functioning according to contract, policy and procedure and all applicable regulatory compliance.

Conduct vendor due diligence, negotiation, and ongoing monitoring of vendor performance.

Advise management on emerging vendor management issues and take appropriate action as required.

Continually seek opportunities to improve overall programs and administration or specific process components and provide appropriate recommendations to management.

Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with employee medical conditions and confidences appropriately

Position deals extensively with highly confidential information

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy needed

Must be self-directed and able to operate with a high degree of independence

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment


Job Requirements:
Requirements:

5-7+ years' experience supporting Leave of Absence administration

Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State Leave of Absence related regulations (e.g., FMLA/CFRA/ADA) required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Experience with vendor management

Experience managing team in a service-oriented environment

Specific Job/Skills that could prepare an individual for this job:

The ideal candidate for the Leave Administration Manager role has knowledge of HR guidelines and procedures, leave of absence and disability laws, workers compensation, American Disability Act and employment law, has excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills, is self-directed to complete work on time, is able to manage significant caseload with strong working case resolution skills, and enjoys working with confidential and/or complex cases.
