Job Description:
The IT Manager, in collaboration with Technology Management, sets strategic direction and technology standards. This position is responsible for the maintenance, security and enhancement of O-AT-KA’s technology infrastructure for both business and plant systems and communications. This position also ensures the stable operation of technology assets and services by planning and directing technology and projects related to the operation of support of network infrastructure while maintaining the highest level of data security.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and successfully manage and execute business and project plans, deliverables, policies, processes, procedures and resources in support of business and departmental strategies, goals, objectives and budgets.
•Provide leadership to the infrastructure team with a focus on associate development to continue to enhance associate capabilities.
•Collaboratively develop and manage to departmental budgets.
•Acquire resources for projects and initiatives and provide technical and budgetary management of vendors/suppliers
•Solve business problems by performing analysis, preparing recommendation(s), and providing project leadership/management for successful implementation of relevant technology, business process modifications and/or enhancements
•Identify, research, and support resolution of technical problems in an efficient manner, recognizing the proper course of action to take, communicating and escalating severe issues as appropriate
•Ensure team provides exceptional customer support by developing and maintaining a culture, procedures, and processes that provide high quality customer support and maintenance for existing and future technology
•Provide escalation support for direct reports and teammates
•Perform knowledge transfers among team members by preparing and maintaining documentation for processes, procedures, written instructions, and solutions to problems
•Collaborate with, and lead, team members to identify, recommend, plan, develop and implement technology and technology standards
•Maintain knowledge of developments in relevant technologies and their use in the industry, making recommendations when appropriate
•Coordinate the acquisition of technology related products, services, and vendors/suppliers
•Ensure procedures are in place to provide support and protect technology including maintaining password security, data integrity, and file system security

Experience & Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent technical or professional experience related to the design, installation, and maintenance of network required. Minimum of seven (7) years of network-related work experience in supporting hardware, operating systems and networking including project management experience, with a minimum of three (3) years supervisory/management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Prior Network experience required. Knowledge of local and wide area networks; computer software and hardware; knowledge of data communications, network planning and analysis; and vendor evaluations.
•ITIL experience a plus.
•Independent thinker

•A high degree of business acumen is required.
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
•Strong leadership ability with a proven record of team development


The IT Manager is responsible for the security of all data and information managed through the O-AT-KA business and plant networks and has regular exposure to confidential customer, product and manufacturing process information. A high degree of discretion is required.

Management Responsibility

Under the general direction of the Director of Technology, the IT Manager directs the work of both internal staff, external vendors and partners to deliver on expectations. Ability to lead with both direct and indirect authority is required.

Work Environment

Must be able to walk, talk, sit, stand, see, reach, bend, lift up to 35 lbs. and operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, computer, calculator, etc.) Majority of work time spent in an office environment sitting at desk, participating in meetings.
•Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
