Job Description:

UHealth IT is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator that will provide assistance to system administrators, performing daily backups, installing and maintaining virtual servers, troubleshooting technical problems, and updating server documentation. Additionally, this employee performs system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and issue escalation to maintain system performance and meet user demand.

The Primary Responsibilities are:

1. Leads the effort to evaluate current systems and processes and proposes strategic
options and improvements.
2. Design, implement and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure.
3. Monitor, troubleshoot and capacity planning of vSphere environment.
4. Proactively identify and perform hardware and software upgrades.
5. Evaluate new products and recommends updates and upgrades.
6. Provide technical guidance to other VMware administrators.
7. Provides end user support by servicing computers, networks, servers, and internet
connections, as well as troubleshooting hardware at a component level.
8. Analyzes system and user needs, recommends and performs upgrades, and completes
scheduled and unscheduled system maintenance.
9. Administers, services, and contracts for the production and development platforms.
10. Monitors production client infrastructure, services, and network traffic to diagnose and
repair outages.
11. Defines security for corporate data, and directory access privileges.
12. Develops and implements workflow automation tools.
13. Documents implementation processes and procedures.
14. Trains junior system administrators and interns.
15. Provides systems support to internal departments and business partners.
16. Recommends infrastructure changes and improvements.
17. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University
assets.

The minimum requirements are a Bachelor's Degree in relevant required. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered
