About This Position

The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Support Specialist. The Research Support Specialist performs a variety of duties involved in the collection, compilation, and documentation of research data related to the assigned research studies. The incumbent also assists with the implementation of daily study activities and provides statistical support to these activities.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:



  • Responsible for overseeing all administration functions at the Palm Beach Concussion Clinic

  • Concussion Clinic Liaison for all Palm Beach County Public High School Athletic Trainers (~26 high schools).​

  • Responsible for answering Concussion Clinic cell phone at all times (24/7).

  • Responsible for processing and scanning all clinic, patient, and physician documents is the universities database.

  • Responsible for requesting and following up on all patient medical records for accurate evaluation.

  • Triage all patients for research study edibility.

  • Responsible for Acute Concussion Evaluation triage at time of communication.

  • Provides administrative support to Concussion Clinic Physicians in completing all required physician documents and ensuring all information is accurate.

  • Responsible for paging Concussion Clinic physicians at any time for any non-emergency patient issues.

  • Assist with KiDZ Neuroscience Center outreach events.

  • Complete all patient checkouts in addition to ensuring patients are provided with all necessary documents such as prescriptions, referrals, excuse notes, and follow-ups.



Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study as well as at least two years of related experience. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
