Terry's Automotive has an immediate opening for an experienced General Manager that wants to work in a clean, modern facility equipped with the technology and equipment to work on all of today’s vehicles. Full time, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Terry's* offers a superior compensation plan and benefits including health insurance, dental, paid holidays, paid vacation, etc.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service
• Serve as a liaison between technicians and customers
• Take ownership of the customer's experience by carrying out those additional assignments that allow the dealership to leave a positive impression with the customer
• Manage, Interview, and Hire technicians
• Distribute work between technicians
• Prioritize required services
• Ensure customer has a positive dealership experience
• Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether phone or in person, to assure the customer does not get mi handled
• Spend quality time building relationships with the customers
• Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs
• Train, develop and motivate the Shop staff and monitor their performance
• Forecast goals and objectives for the department and ensure they are met
• Ensure that common courtesy is shown to all customers by every Shop employee to promote customer satisfaction
• Maintain daily sales and production records as required by dealership management
• Develop and monitor budgets for the department and keep dealership management informed of variances
• Ensure that the department meets all financial goals
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance adjusters at several insurance companies
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
• Handle customer complaints tactfully, promptly, and with concern for the customer
• Ensure proper repair techniques are being used
• Ensure that all necessary shop equipment is in proper and safe working condition
• Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect Shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc
• Other duties may be assigned by management

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
• 2 years of experience as a Body Shop Manager OR 5 year’s experience as a Body Shop Estimator
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles.
• Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
• Energetic
• Willing to work to market and grow customer base
• Currently has established good working relationships with insurance companies in the local market area
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with the ability to report daily to management
• Great attitude with high energy personality
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professional appearance and work ethic
• Ability to work well in a process driven environment
• Outstanding communication skills in both verbal and written
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver license and a good driving record
