Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment on low and medium voltage systems. Must have completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures related to electricity. Install a variety of electrical equipment including, generators, breakers, transformers, switchboards, controllers, conduit systems, motors, etc. Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts and other specifications. Perform computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. Use a variety of electricians hand tools, measuring and testing equipment.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Directs and leads the work of others. Follows the direction of supervisor and lead. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.
Will perform tasks in accordance with FOMS contract requirements. Will know how to read one line drawings, create and follow switching orders, and make recommendations to improve job plans.
Will use various predictive technologies such as the collection of oil samples for analysis and oil analysis software, ultrasonic and ultrasound testing and analysis, and thermography.
Will be QEW trained and know the conditions for wearing the correct PPE at all times to include when breaking a barrier. Must always work safely. Will be a champion of safety and submit 3 safety observations per week to his supervisor. Completes job hazards analysis before performing tasks for the first time.
May have to assist with high voltage electrical work under the supervision of the high voltage electrician.
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Requires the completion of a formal apprenticeship program as a Journeymen.
Familiar with the use of the CMMS MAXIMO, and Job Plans within MAXIMO for each piece of equipment.
Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift 75 lbs. Understand, read, write, and speak fluent English.
