Job Description:

The department of Neurology is actively seeking a Research Support Specialist to to assist in the coordination of the Florida Stroke Registry, NOMAS, and the newly NIH funded Transitions of Care study. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the principal investigators and senior research staff in the development and documentation of pertinent project records, documents, meetings, and meeting material related to the state and federally sponsored project in the Department of Neurology.


CORE JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Researches, collects, analyzes, and synthesizes operational data and maintains databases.

  • Assists in organizing and coordinating stakeholder, executive, and subcommittee meetings.

  • Maintains project website content updated and serves as primary point of contact for community partners wishing to obtain access to the website through a private account.

  • Maintains project listserv active through frequent posting of scientific and project related content; documents listserv activity; identifies areas of opportunity to increase use, and recommends solutions.

  • Prepares and updates study enrollment schedule.

  • Assists with the preparation of grant proposals by processing regulatory documents.

  • Assists in the preparation of manuscript and abstract submissions.

  • Maintains project files, archived material, and resources, and responds to phone calls or emails on the research study phone line or email address, respectively.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

  • Assist project PI's and the Director of Research and Advocacy in developing UM IRB protocols, continuing reports, and other required IRB documents.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the project website, Listserv, and other forms of social media.

  • Assist the Director of Research and Advocacy in developing, updating, and disseminating project communications and policy.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.

  • MPH and relevant experience in coordinating large federal grants is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience implementing quality improvement projects highly desired.

  • Knowledge of IRB and experience with research reports preferred.
