About This Position

The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine's Diabetes Research Institute, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 1. Under the supervision of Dr. Ernesto Bernal- Mizrachi the incumbent will assist with investigations that focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms that govern growth and survival of islet b- cells. Duties include but are not limited to islet culture and maintenance, mouse colony maintenance, dissection and physiological experiments with rodents, cell culture and maintenance and perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting physical, chemical, biological and other research laboratory tests, experiments and determinations to obtain data for research purposes.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology or related field, excellent communication skills, ability to work independently as a part of a team. Previous experience in a research lab desired.
