This is a full-time, permanent (probationary) position.
Special Working Conditions: Transport recruitment materials to and from sites; load and unload
materials weighing up to 25 lbs each. Travel by air and stay overnight in hotels when attending
work-related events. May travel distances of 50 miles or more in CA for work-related events.
Accommodate flexible work schedule that includes occasional evenings and some weekends, providing
recruitment services to students.
Salary Range and Max Salary

The salary range for this classification is $4,691 - $6,683 monthly. Placement within the salary
range is commensurate with experience.
Conditions of Employment
Possession of a valid Driver's License is required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in
the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms
possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for
employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the
background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate
knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background

Department Marketing Statement
Department: Outreach and School Relations
The Outreach and School Relations Department is responsible for the recruitment of prospective
students to CSU Dominguez Hills. The Department partners with high schools, community colleges,
community based organizations and other K-14 entities to ensure that prospective students
understand how CSUDH can assist them in meeting their educational goals. The department works
collaboratively with other Divisions, Colleges and other Student Affairs departments to plan
programs and keep abreast
f updates in programs and majors that are of interest to prospective students.
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the incumbent independently determines
Campus Tours and Visitor's Information Center (VIC) approaches in addition to data collecting
techniques in order to meet established goals. Performs complex and in-depth analysis of student
outcomes. This position oversees campus tour guides, and is responsible for scheduling, training
and daily implementation of group and prospective tours in addition to coordination and oversight
of the Visitor's Information Center
Additionally, the incumbent plans, develops and conducts assessment, provides individual student
advisement, group advisement, college readiness seminars and conducts recruitment visits at high
school and community colleges.
Required Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related
field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling
techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related.
Preferred Education: Preferred: Master's Degree in Student Affairs or related field.
Required Experience:Three years of progressively responsible professional student services work
experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required.
A masters degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may
be substituted for one year of experience.
Preferred Experience: Three - five years professional experience in an higher education enrollment
services or student affairs capacity. Experience with implementing Campus Tours and Prospective
Visitor's Centers. CSU admissions evaluation and student supervision experience.

Specialized Materials: General office equipment, personal computer, MS Office suite, PeopleSoft,
audio/visual equipment, electric cart, Enrollment Management Platform CRM, Onbase. Have access to a
car with current registration and automobile insurance to travel to work-related events.
Required Certification: Valid Driver's License
45% - Planning, coordination and analysis:
Represent CSUDH to external constituencies by increasing awareness and interest in the university
related to student's educational goals. This includes, but not limited to, the following
activities: recruitment presentations, workshops and seminars, VIC services and Campus Tours.
Independently determines program approaches and data collecting techniques in order to meet
established program goals.
Performs complex and in-depth analysis of student outcomes. Responsible for recognizing Campus Tour
program needs and for developing approaches for possible implementations to meet constituents
needs. Oversee student interns/leaders. Responsible for the scheduling and execution of group,
individual, and VIP campus tours. Responsible for client communication and confirmations of campus
Revamps and implements a new campus tour delivery with action plans based on various service
levels; elementary, junior high, high school and transfer. Works with Associate Director on the
implementation of a virtual/on-line campus tour.
45% - Student Services:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Visitor's Information Center. Ensures a high level
of seamless service and hospitality to prospective students, their families and the campus
community. Develops and administers VIC standards, policies and procedures; designs and implements
mandatory training for student interns; works closely with Enrollment offices such as Admissions,
Financial Aid, University Advising Center and other campus offices as it relates to prospective
student deadlines, designs visitor surveys; analyzes and presents visitor data to management;
serves as main point of contact for cross-departmental issues related to visitors. Advises students
individually, in groups or in seminars on topics related to enrollment at CSUDH.
